Mike Ross ("we", "us", "our") operates the Mike Ross Legal AI platform at mikeross.in and its associated modules, including Legal Search, Legal Due Diligence (DD), GST Refund, and Litigation AI. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use any of our services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you sign in using Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.

1.2 Legal Research Data

We log your search queries, case views, and flashcard usage to improve search relevance and provide usage analytics. Search queries are not shared with third parties.

1.3 Document Uploads

When you use the Legal Due Diligence or Litigation modules, you may upload legal documents for analysis. Uploaded documents are processed by AI models and stored temporarily for the duration of your session or as required to deliver results. We do not use your uploaded documents to train AI models.

1.4 GST Portal Integration

If you use the GST Refund module, you may provide your GSTIN and authenticate with the GST portal via OTP. We store your GSTIN, trade name, and session tokens required to fetch your GST return data. We access only the data necessary to generate refund applications (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B). Your GST portal credentials (username/password) are never stored by us.

1.5 Payment Information

Payments for GST tokens and Litigation credits are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card number, UPI ID, or bank account details. We retain only the Razorpay payment ID, order ID, amount, and transaction status for our records.

1.6 Usage and Analytics

We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used to monitor service health, prevent abuse, and improve the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate you and manage your account
  • To provide legal research, legal due diligence, GST refund, and litigation services
  • To process payments and maintain transaction records
  • To improve search quality and AI accuracy
  • To send service-related notifications (e.g., payment confirmations, pipeline updates)
  • To comply with legal obligations

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:

  • Google — for OAuth authentication
  • Razorpay — for payment processing
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — for cloud infrastructure (servers, storage, AI models)
  • Cohere — for search embedding and reranking (anonymized queries only)
  • Anthropic — for AI-powered document analysis
  • Sandbox.co.in — as GSP (GST Suvidha Provider) for GST portal API access

4. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained as long as your account is active
  • Search and activity logs: Retained indefinitely for service improvement
  • Uploaded documents: Deleted after processing unless explicitly saved by you
  • GST session tokens: Refreshed periodically and expire automatically
  • Payment records: Retained for 8 years as required by Indian tax law

5. Data Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. Data at rest is stored on AWS infrastructure with encryption enabled. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel only.

6. Your Rights

You may:

  • Request a copy of your personal data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Revoke Google OAuth access at any time via your Google account settings

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication session management. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
